Lumina collects minimal personal information necessary to facilitate anonymous connections. We collect your email address for authentication purposes and the interests/bios you provide to pair you with compatible pen pals.
Messages and connections are protected with Supabase Auth, HTTPS in transit, and strict PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS). These database rules limit message access to authenticated users who belong to the relevant connection. Message content is not currently end-to-end encrypted, so Lumina does not claim device-only message secrecy.
Your interests and bio are strictly mathematically processed by our Algorithmic Matchmaker (using Jaccard Similarity and Full-Text Search) to generate a numeric compatibility score. We do not sell your data or train external AI models on your personal letters.
